The Fall River Park Commission announces unanimous approval for a permanent Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall. Upon approving a request from the Vietnam Veterans Wall Committee, the 80% scale Memorial Wall will be located at Veterans Bicentennial Park adjacent to Battleship Cove.
The Memorial Wall will be purchased from A.V.T.T. a Texas based company and owned by retired LTC Don Allen, US Army Vietnam Veteran.
The wall will measure approximately 360’ by 8’ and displayed alongside the WW II Memorial, Korean and Gold Star Memorials located at the park. This project is expected to open in 2020 as fund raising efforts have begun.
The Chairmen of the Vietnam Veterans Committee is Joseph Marshall, Air Force Security Service, Vietnam Veteran, who has will directed the committees to move forward now that the project has the final approval.
